Gillian Welch to tour UK for first time since 2004
Gillian Welch, one of the most popular U.S. roots artists, has announced her first UK tour in seven years.
Welch and her partner Dave Rawlings have seven dates, starting in Brighton on November 12 and then going on to Coventry, Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester and finishing at London’s Hammersmith Apollo on November 23.
Welch’s latest album, The Harrow and the Harvest, was released in June and is currently second in the Americana radio charts.
Though she has not toured in the UK in her own right since 2004, Welch and Rawlings – in the guise of the Dave Rawlings Machine – played some shows in support of the Old Crow Medicine Show last year.
Tickets for all the shows go on sale tomorrow, September 2.
